I love the feeling you get when you wake up and think
I don't have to do anything today. Of course, that is not necessarily the case for me, but it's a nice thought. I began a new job 3 or 4 weeks ago and for the first time in my life am actually making some pretty decent money. I also started a summer class (Texas History) at the community college near here. The class will be easy I think, which is a nice change, although I do have to go to it for nearly 2 hours a day. And I'm getting over a cold, which is just ridiculous since it's over 95F here every day.
But at least I'm here, in my own apartment, with my own schedule. I can spend my free time writing, creating, and of course, reading!

I feel like I haven't been able to read for fun in so long! I brought up nearly 40 books from home and I'm about 1/4 of the way through them already but I love it. I've not written much in the way of short stories as of late since I've been working on my novel, but I'll try to post something soon.
I've also been spending some time looking at steampunk lately. It fascinates me how people can just throw part together and make machines. Perhaps I'll join their ranks soon.
