Things to wish

Thu Sep 17, 2009, 6:25 PM
Falling off the bandwagon here. What hours aren't taken up by work are precious and few. And after staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day it is difficult to force myself to come home and write. I did have some time on the job for writing, but lately, what with one girl transferring to Houston, one girl who went back to part-time, and the guy who still sleeps most of the day in his cubicle, I am up to my eyebrows in work. And not fun work either--office-cubicle work. Leaves me too tired for writing and tongue-tied when I have the time.

So many concerns: bi-annual reviews are coming up, wedding planning, money. The reviews are the least of my concerns since I do my job and damn well, but I should probably take them more seriously. Mostly it's the wedding and paying for it and daily expenses. My lover is 5+ hours away in Texarkana, so I only get to see him once a month or so, unless you count Skype (which we don't do everyday). It's difficult not to miss him.

I have written some, and edited stories posted here when I'm too brain-dead to write. So many revisions, it seems pointless to edit the posts until I can control the impulse to edit. Keep sending them in to different mags, keep getting rejection letters worded oh-so-politely. Trying not to let it bother me, but of course it does, at least a little.

I didn't even realize my birthday is next week until my mom said something about it. After 21 the birthdays aren't really significant unless you're turning a multiple of 10. 23 is certainly no big deal. I'd like to take the day off but I need the cash. Ah the joy of being an "adult".

About the only good thing lately is that it's been storming a lot around here. Storms always make me happy.

I decided I didn't like it as much and so I axed it. Perhaps I'll put it back up once I rework things. There are quite a few stories on here that I have revamped actually, I just haven't had time to post them. When you spend all day on a computer at work, the last thing you want to do at home is get back on one...

People like us must never think for fear of thinking ourselves out of existence~The Edwardians

Whores just sat around idle, didn't they? If I was a whore I'd get a lot of reading done~Dr. Brooks, in a lecture on The Rape of Lucrece

I liked it, it was very haunting. You should put it back

...or at least email it to me. I wanted to read it again the other day, but I couldn't find it anywhere. :(
